Guy Whiskers Night

Twangy was busy cutting wood.
Piling it up as high as he could.
Tupper and Tina were gathering rags,
Tied together with big black bags.
Fiddlina was busy with hot dogs and soup.
Keys was placing rope in a loop.
A historical night for all to remember.
Fireworks night, on 5th Mousevember.
The night Guy Whiskers, historical mouse,
 Tried to explode Parliament House.

Every year the mice celebrate
With fireworks, bonfire and dancing till late.
Tupper and Tina had made a mouse Guy,
To put on the bonfire, which was awfully high.

Tich and Keys had piled up the wood,
To make the fire as high as they could.

Bongo and Quiffy had boxes of rockets

With safety mice matches in all of their pockets,
To load up Monty's new invention
Created with one sole intention.
Monty's Magical Launching Machine:
To make firing rockets  go like a dream.

They loaded the rockets in nice and slow,
Making ready for the  big rocket show.
Sachmo was placing buckets and pails,
Just in case one of them fails.
While Twangy counted sparklers out
Making sure they all had one without a doubt.

Bang on seven the fireworks began,
With a fizzler and rocket according to plan.
They ooh'd and they ahh'd as the rockets went high
And squirled their sparklers as they looked in the sky.
Fiddlina had all the food on a table
And Joined the fun as soon as she was able.

Then oh no! Look out! Oh what a disaster!
The rocket machine going faster and faster.

So fast in fact the it fell on its side
And launched the rockets far and wide.
They flew round the garden  both high and low,
The mice didn't know the best place to go.
One shot in the house, then out the side door,
Another shot out across the floor.

One hit the table and over the fence,

When suddenly Keys seemed to see sense.
'Sachmo, Bongo, pour water on now!'
And they picked up pails with a furrowed brow.
Keys and Bongo threw theirs on the machine,
And put out the rockets with quite a smoke screen.
Poor Sachmo got lost in all of the smoke.
He missed the rockets, so what did he soak?

The hot dogs, potatoes, the burgers  and soup!
Oh what a horrible, soggy old gloop.
'My machine!' said Monty, and ran to  see
What had happened to cause the catastrophe.
'I think after all the matches are best.
That machine of yours needs more of a test.'
The mice set the rockets out in a row,
And used their matches to make them go.
Fiddlina cleared away the soggy food

And made more hotdogs as fast as she could.
They ooh'd and ahh'd the rest of the night,
Watching rockets as they burst while in flight.

Monty was sorry he caused such alarm,
But the mice were just happy they came to no harm.

They sang and they danced late in to the night

And all had a wonderful Guy Whiskers night.
